CrewLAN Host
To run a CrewLAN Workspace, one device on the network must have the CrewLAN Host app installed and activated. It serves as the central control point for creating, hosting, and managing CrewLAN Workspace instances.
The app can be activated with either a Basic or Pro license. Available features depend on the license used.
Get License
CrewLAN can be purchased via Digistore24. All payments, invoices, and billing are handled directly through their platform.
After purchase, your license can be managed using the CrewLAN License Manager.
License Comparison
CrewLAN Host is available with two license options: Basic and Pro. Compare the included features and choose the license that best fits your CrewLAN setup.

CrewLAN Licensing and Pro Upgrades
License Manager and Account Access
All CrewLAN purchases made using the same email address are automatically grouped together in a single License Manager account.
To access the License Manager, enter the email address used for the purchase. A secure login link will then be sent to that address. No password is required.
License Keys and Activations
Each CrewLAN edition has its own license key:
- CrewLAN Basic uses a Basic license key.
- CrewLAN Pro uses a Pro license key.
Purchasing multiple licenses of the same edition does not create additional license keys. Instead, the number of available activations assigned to the existing license key is increased.
Any future purchases made using the same email address are automatically added to the same License Manager account and increase the available activation count for the corresponding edition.
Activating CrewLAN
CrewLAN can be activated using either the email address associated with the licenses or the corresponding license key.
Activation Using an Email Address
When activating with an email address, CrewLAN checks which editions are available for the account.
If both Basic and Pro activations are available, you will be asked which edition you want to activate.
If only one edition is available, it will be selected automatically.
Activation Using a License Key
When activating with a license key, use the key for the required edition:
- Use the Basic license key to activate CrewLAN Basic.
- Use the Pro license key to activate CrewLAN Pro.
How CrewLAN Pro Upgrades Work
CrewLAN Pro upgrades must be purchased using the same email address associated with the existing CrewLAN Basic licenses.
Each applied upgrade:
- Reduces the number of Basic activations by one.
- Increases the number of Pro activations by one.
Upgrading Available Basic Licenses
If eligible Basic activations are currently available and not in use, purchased upgrades are applied automatically in the License Manager.
The available Basic activation count is reduced, and the Pro activation count is increased accordingly.
Upgrading Active Basic Licenses
Basic licenses that are currently activated must be upgraded directly from within the CrewLAN application:
- Open the License View in CrewLAN.
- Click Switch to Pro.
- The active Basic license will be upgraded.
- The license will immediately be reactivated as a CrewLAN Pro license.
After switching an active license to Pro, restart all affected workspaces and refresh every browser window currently using CrewLAN.
Pending Upgrades
If more upgrades are purchased than there are eligible Basic activations available, the remaining upgrades will appear as Pending in the License Manager.
A pending upgrade is applied automatically as soon as another eligible Basic activation becomes available. The Basic activation count is then reduced, and the Pro activation count is increased automatically.
